About me

I’m a life-long learner, recovering perfectionist, and passionate health and wellness advocate. I’ve always been fascinated by the human mind and body and the powerful role lifestyle factors play in our physical, mental, and emotional well-being. At my core, I believe life is all about balance.

Although I’ve always intuitively understood the mind-body connection, it wasn’t until I experienced my own health challenges—sudden weight gain, anxiety and depression, chronic fatigue, and digestive issues—that I truly realized the importance of addressing mental and emotional health alongside physical health. My journey back to wellness introduced me to Functional Medicine and the transformative benefits of working with qualified health and wellness coaches.

Despite being health-conscious, I had an unhealthy relationship with my own body, pushing myself too hard, chasing perfection, and relying on restrictive exercise and dieting. My drive for achievement and constant overextension was literally making me sick.

After nearly a year of working with a Functional Medicine practitioner, a health coach (yes, we use them too!), and a therapist, I learned how to shift my mindset, prioritize mental and emotional wellness, and restore my physical health. That journey, while challenging, was transformative—and it’s what inspired me to dedicate my life to helping women facing similar struggles. Today, I guide clients to address mental, emotional, and physical barriers, build sustainable habits, and find lasting balance in their own lives.

Education & Experience

I’m a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach (FMCHC), trained through the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, the gold standard program developed with the Institute of Functional Medicine and approved by the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching. My training combines functional medicine expertise with practical coaching skills to help clients create sustainable, holistic health improvements.

I also hold a Master of Science in Family and Child Studies, giving me insight into how life stress, trauma, and emotional challenges impact overall well-being.

In 2022, I founded Brittany Schooley Wellness Coaching, where I provide personalized one-on-one coaching for clients seeking to break through the barriers holding them back from lasting change. Based in New Braunfels, TX, I work virtually and in collaboration with local medical practitioners through referral partnerships.

Before entering the wellness field, I spent almost 15 years in local government, including nine years as an executive assistant in law enforcement. One of the most meaningful aspects of that work was serving as a Victim Services Liaison, assisting crime victims, survivors, and their families. This experience gave me firsthand insight into how trauma and stress can impact mental, emotional, and physical functioning—knowledge I now apply to my coaching practice.

Drawing from my education, professional experience, and personal journey, I specialize in helping women navigate the mental and emotional barriers that often prevent lasting health improvements. While I am not a mental health professional, wellness coaching can have a transformative effect similar to therapy by empowering clients to manage stress, anxiety, and lifestyle challenges in a supportive, structured, and personalized way.
